Major UN Funding Cuts On The Table
SWEEPING UN CUTS ON THE TABLE
Congress is confronting serious questions about American taxpayer funding for the United Nations — and those questions reach directly back to the horrors of October 7, 2023.
Avinatan Or spent 738 days in Hamas captivity.
He and his girlfriend, Noa Argamani, were abducted from the Nova music festival. Footage of Noa being taken away on a motorcycle became one of the most haunting images of that day.
For more than two years, the couple remained separated as Avinatan endured captivity.
But underlying these atrocities is a sinister fact: Hundreds of U.N. workers were part of this unspeakable torture of innocent civilians.
American taxpayers have been helping finance the United Nations system AND WE PAY MORE THAN ANY NATION — ABOUT 22%. Some of that money pays U.N. Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) salaries!
Join me now in demanding Congress DEFUND the U.N. in the Appropriations bill until this pipeline to terrorism is shut down.
In August 2024, the U.N.’s own Office of Internal Oversight Services concluded that nine UNRWA employees participated in the October 7 attacks.
But the concerns extend far beyond those nine employees.
A sweeping investigation by Geneva-based UN Watch identified 490 profiles and 889 connections involving UNRWA personnel, terrorist figures, extremist organizations, and institutional networks.
According to UN Watch, its findings include:
-
Employees affiliated with Hamas and other terrorist organizations.
-
Educators glorifying violence and encouraging extremism.
-
UNRWA facilities exploited for terrorist purposes.
-
Union leaders holding influential positions within Hamas.
These connections reveal systemic weaknesses in UNRWA’s neutrality and oversight.
JEWISH LEADERS CONFRONT THE UN OVER ANTISEMITISM
But UNRWA’s direct involvement in the brutal Oct. 7 attacks is only part of problem. The U.N. as an organization has an ugly history of antisemitism and hatred for Israel.
In September, approximately 1,000 demonstrators gathered outside U.N. headquarters in New York City, demanding action against antisemitism as world leaders convened for the General Assembly.
Among them were major Jewish organizations and survivors of the October 7 attacks.
William Daroff, CEO of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, accused the U.N. of institutional antisemitism and repeatedly singling out Israel for condemnation.
The gathering also included Shalev Biton, a survivor of the Nova massacre, alongside Younes Alkarnawi, the Bedouin-Israeli who helped save him and others that day.
Survivors of Hamas’ atrocities stood outside the world’s foremost international organization, calling attention to antisemitism and demanding accountability.
And right now, we have the chance to stand alongside them, demanding the same accountability.
Demand Congress take action and defund the U.N. NOW through the Appropriations bill.
